The Rough and Tumble Raconteur Podcast by Mark Hatmaker

What follows is a wee bit about this particular iron in the fire.

A little what it is….

A little what to expect…

Perhaps a nugget or two to allow you to decide, “Yeah, this might be my cuppa” or, “Nah, I’ll move on in the aural wilderness.”

What the podcast is, in short, is a grab bag of Old School Western Martial Arts, Resurrected Indigenous Ways, and & Empirical Musings tinged with a heavy dose of respect, admiration and the occasional shined spotlight on Bad Hombres and Honorable Hosses of yore.

In essence, it is the “Uncle Mark reads you a violent bedtime story” version of the Indigenous Ability blog.

“Mark, why is it so short?”

Yeah, you may have noticed the three episodes, thus far, clock in between 5 to 12 minutes—that is by design.

·        I resisted the podcast format for so long as they strike me, for the most part, as long-winded BS sessions. I wager we all have friends; we can gather with them and BS ourselves and have more fun. Hell, I’d rather sit on my front porch and talk to each one of you as the evening whiles than yak into a microphone any day.

·        For every hour’s worth of podcast listening time it strikes me there may be around 5-8 minutes of import. Lotta missed opportunity there.

·        I figure, if I cut to the chase my 5 to 12 minutes may have, perhaps, 2-3 minutes of news you can use.

·        If it does—Target hit!

·        If it doesn’t, well, at least I didn’t waste your time with small talk and re-hashing rants and hot takes of the day. You can shut it off, and go train, hug a loved one, build a plane, you know, real stuff—bad ass stuff.

·        Besides, as a longtime admirer of Voltaire, I have adopted his motto, Jusqu'au point!

He’s always better in context, the below is him referring to lectures he attended [the podcasts of his day.]

“[I resent] the profusion of useless things with which they wished to load my brain; my motto is, TO THE POINT.” [All caps in the original.]

Mark, when will they be released?”

The planned frequency is one per week.

Haven’t planned a standard release day yet, but if you dig what you hear so far, subscribe and the “when” is taken care of for you.

Mark, is there anything I can do to make this free endeavor less burdensome?”

Well, ain’t you a sweetheart for asking.

You can always support the podcast with a donation on the support page, or if thou are more than a listener hop aboard the doer freight train of the RAW/Black Box Subscription Service.

Support ain’t mandatory, free teats are awash in the world. You know your own moral relationship between freebies and free market incentives to providers.

Hey Mark, stfu and hit me with another episode.”

Can do, will do. The [Real] Gladiator Diet

Have a good one, Crew!
